- This luncheon seminar will focus on innovative OCT technology and its application in glaucoma research. Dr. Araie will introduce the 3rd generation OCT, swept source, with a comparison to Spectral Domain OCT. He will discuss clinical advantages of swept source OCT and the advantages of using unique light sources including the one micron wavelength light source utilized in swept source OCT. Dr. Weinreb will discuss the potential involvement of deeper retinal structures in glaucoma that can be evaluated with the new OCT. Specifically the potential role of the choroid in the pathophysiology of glaucoma and lamina cribrosa changes in early glaucoma will be presented.
