Relationships among University Students' Psychological Capital, Professional Commitment and Teacher Career Maturity

Abstract: The present study aimed at investigating the relationship between psychological capital and teacher career maturity, and the possible mediating role of professional commitment between them. Questionnaires were distributed to university students in Guangdong, and a total of 506 valid cases' data were collected. Amos 17.0 was employed to analyze the relationship among psychological capital, professional commitment and teacher career maturity. The results showed that: (1) University students' psychological capital, hope and optimism had a salient positive relationship with professional commitment; Psychological capital and hope had a salient positive relationship with attitude maturity and career maturity; Psychological capital, hope and self-efficacy had a salient positive relationship with capacity maturity. (2) Professional commitment partially mediated the relationship between psychological capital and teacher career attitude maturity but can't mediated the relationship between psychological capital and career capacity maturity.
