The Path Analysis of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation on Learning Efficacy in manipulative mathematical learning environment

The aim of this research is to explore the different effects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations on learning efficacy in cooperative learning environment. And we detected four motivation dimensions of individual learners from self-report instrument includes four constructs 1) extrinsic compensation, 2) extrinsic outward, 3) intrinsic enjoyment, and 4) intrinsic challenge which provides the indications of possible strengths and possible tendencies of manipulative learning objects. We found the motivational synergy and the different effect on learning efficacy which presented the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation may interact the outcomes from manipulative mathematical tasks. Furthermore, we found the situated learning motivation will be constructed and effected by manipulative content, learning style, sharable knowledge, and challenge condition. Finally, the path analysis illustrates the different motivations may act specific effect on learning efficacy.
