Aging of the Intellectually Handicapped persons in Bangladesh and Japan

Aging of the intellectually handicapped persons is a relatively new area of serious concern in Bangladesh. Earlier, the intellectually handicapped persons had shorter life span. Now with the development in medical services, immunization programs and awareness development they are also expecting longer life. The families are facing newer problems related to their health, economy, housing and social security. On the other hand, in Japan, the concerned professionals and family members have already experienced the problems and prospects. The speakers will compare the situations. They will narrate case studies of such persons in these two countries.
