Using materials describing a person did a behavior in a determined world, this experiment examined prisoners' judgment on moral issues. The materials varied in types of determinism, the actor being the prisoner himself or someone else, and the goodness or badness of behavior. The results showed that behavior nature had a main effect on prisoners' judgment on moral responsibility, but interactions among these factors were not found. And whether the actor was the prisoner himself had a main effect on his judgment on moral punishment or praise, namely prisoners thought the actor should be punished or praised when the actor was someone else. The findings may indicate that emotional intuition also seemed to work in prisoners' moral judgment, but prisoners were dedicated to defend themselves.
