- This session will begin with a general overview of the most important conjunctival tumors. Following this introduction, there will be updates on the 3 most important malignant intraocular tumors, namely melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma and lymphoma. Emphasis will be placed on current surgical management and the use of ancillary modalities like cryotherapy, injections of medications to assist in tumor control, and radiotherapy. Finally there will be a discussion on special techniques in histopathology of conjunctival tumors. After completed this session, the attendee will have a better knowledge of how to recognize a variety of conjunctival tumors and will better understand options in management, basic management techniques, and when to refer patients to subspecialists who deal specifically with such lesions.
