Description
Eye injury in the children are not uncommon and proper understanding of the dynamics involved are necessary so as to give the affected children good management opportunities. This session of symposium takes a look at the pearls and pitfalls in the management of eye injuries in children. We shall look critically at the assessment and the prognosis of these injuries; see the salient management points at managing the accompanying cataract and anterior segment injuries. Finally, we shall also review the important issues in the orbital and adnexial tissue injuries in this age group. This session is of importance bearing in mind that mismanagement of eye injuries may have grave physical, social and psychological effect on the affected children, and this may be for many years.
