- Retina debate is an interactive session where several controversial surgical retina topics are addressed. These controversial topics include the following: 1) Primary vitrectomy versus vitrectomy with scleral buckling for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment; 2) Lens sparing vitrectomy versus vitrectomy with routine lens extraction; 3) Vitrectomy with ILM peel versus repeated injections for non tractional diabetic macular edema; 4) Use of vitreous cutter versus scissors in complex diabetic vitrectomy; and 5) Prophylactic treatment versus no treatment for fellow eyes of retinal detachment. This 90-minute session is intended for retina specialist and its objective is to make them reach to the preferred treatment practice after exploring the different points of view.
