Description
In this symposium, two new technological advances will be explained and their clinical advantages will be discussed. OCT has become the clinical standard of care in Ophthalmology. Topcon is the only company to introduce the 3rd generation OCT, based on swept-source technology. The advantages this new OCT provides over time domain and Fourier Domain OCT will be discussed. Another clinical breakthrough has occurred in laser treatment. The idea of placing visible burns to treat DME and DR patients is being replaced with a new, non-damaging photo-thermal stimulation technique that is clinically effective without damaging the retina and destroying photoreceptors.
