Topography - The GPS for Ablation in Keratoconic Eye

To report the technique of topography guided customised ablation therapy taking intoaccount the "Q" factor in patients with keratoconous.

Summary of Content
We present our experience and methodology of topography guided customised aspheric ablation algorithm that takes the preoperative and attempted postoperative Q-factor of the cornea to be operated on into account.The "Q" value was obtained from the corneal topolyzer (Allegretoinc.).The algorithm also takes into account the position of the cone and the refractive status of theeye in deciding the expected post operative asperity of the cornea denoted by the "Q" factor. Post operative corneal asperity is less impaired with appropriate use of "Q" customisedablation profile in patients with keratoconous.The use of "Q" customised algorithm using topography help surgeons achieve morepredictable postoperative results in eyes with keratoconous.
