SC-WE-47 Endothelial Keratoplasty Made Simple - A Step by Step Video Based Learning Course
Objective
To update corneal surgeons with various surgical techniques of endothelial keratoplasty (EK) which will help them incorporate this procedure in their clinical practice Summary of Content/Synopsis of the course Video based presentations on endothelial keratoplasty from experienced corneal surgeons will be used for the course to cover all aspects of EK surgery. Target Audience Donor preparation techniques (manual & automated), Descemet stripping, Donor insertion techniques (various devices), air bubble management (intraop & postop), & post operative care will be presented in detail. Newer techniques such as Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) will also be demonstrated & discussed. Various complications will be presented & their management discussed in detail. Surgical tips will be shared which will help smoothen the learning curve for the beginning surgeon. EK surgery in difficult cases will also be presented which will further improve skills of the experienced surgeon. Educational Level At the end of the course, attendee will have a clear understanding of basic principles of Endothelial Keratoplasty & its application in managment of endothelial dysfunction.
