Experimental Study of Correlation of Terahertz Emission with Eye Surface: Fibrous Eyeball Cover, Cornea and Sclera

Study of terahertz emission correlation with eye surface:fibrous eyeball cover, cornea, sclera in experiment with purpose of terahertz emission determination using possibilities in study of etiopathogenesis and anterior eye segment opthalmopathy diagnostics cornea, sclera, ciliary body.

Forteen of cadaveric pig eyes samples, which were in conserved growth medium keeping time of conserved samples is seven days from the moment of material getting. Four native samples without conservation. First group contained three enucleate eyes conserved in liquid growth medium, second group were eleven corneal scleral samples getting by the way of surgical dissection, seven are conserved and four native.

Spectrum measurement transmission of frequency in diapason from five hundreds terahertz to two terahertz eye component, second group, was carried out on terahertz spectrograph. Eye component sample reflection spectrum, first and second group, carried out with scatterometrical terahertz spectrograph.
For cornea spectrum transmission and reflection spectrum was carried out averaging eight samples and three dimensions of everything. For pig eye sclera spectrum transmission was carried out averaging according to five dimensions. Unlike cornea, other eye components sclera transmit terahertz emission, but on the percentage level lot of percentage, depends on thickness. It is necessary to note pig eye cornea thickness in average is one hundred micrometres, exactly twice more than human.

Results and Conclusion
During study it was established that out of pig eye components terahertz emission with power about from thirty to forty microwolt omit only sclera on the level of percentage depending on thickness. Thickness of research samples contained about one hundred micrometres. Other components of anterior eye segment: cornea (center, peripheries, limb) do not omit. For getting spectrum transmission terahertzemission of cornea needs increase of terahertz emission power over sixty microwolt. spectrum transmission and reflection spectrum values from eye component first and second group have not statistical difference.
Measurement of transmission and reflection spectrum terahertz emission on cadaveric eye and components allows fix optimum emission power, educe parameters of required power for emission passing through cornea. These facts provide possibility of terahertz emission using in study of etiopathogenesis and anterior eye segment opthalmopathy diagnostics cornea, sclera, ciliary body.
