Objective/Purpose
To report a case of a femtosecond laser keratoplasty procedure performed on a female patient of 20 years old who suffer a corneal perforation due to Acanthamoeba keratitis.

Summary of Content
The clinical case illustrates how the femtosecond assisted penetrating keratoplasty procedure can be performed even when the cornea has a central perforation. In first instance the anterior chamber is filled with high viscosity ocular viscosurgical device under the operating microscope. Then the patient undergoes the corneal dissection with the femtosecond laser without any complication and achieving an excellent trephination. Finally the donor tissue is placed over the recipient cornea using a double running suture technique. Two months postoperatively the patient has a transparent cornea with a corrected visual acuity of 20/30 and a residual astigmatism of 2.5 diopters.
