Objective) Our objective was to assess the advantages of emergency EVAR in comparison with conventional open surgical repair (OS).Methods)Data on patients presenting with i/rAAA between January 2004 and August 2014, were reviewed and used for comparison to prospectively collected data.Operative outcomes and mid-term survival were evaluated. Conclusion) Operative time was significant short in EVAR group and no abdominal complication and cerebral infarction was observed. Although there was no significant difference of 30-day mortality between OS and EVAR, 1-year survival rate was worse in OS. It might affect long-time outcome. Further long-term results should be acquired to verify the efficacy of EVAR in i/r AAA.
