OBJECTIVESThis study was undertaken to determine the effect of the preoperative diameter of abdominal aortic aneurysmsMETHODSBetween July 2008 and October 2013, 183 patients underwent EVAR. Patients were divided into three groups by maximum aortic diameter: small (<5.0cm), medium (5.0-5.9cm), and large (>=6.0cm). RESULTS69 patients (37.7%) with aneurysm smaller than 5 cm in diameter, 76 patients (41.5%) with aneurysm between 5 cm and 6.0 cm, 38 patients (20.8%) with aneurysm larger than 6.0cm. Postoperative complications occurred in 9 patients in small, 11 patients in medium and 12 patients in large (P=0.037). Mean days of postoperative hospital stay were 6.8 in small, 7.7 in medium and 9.2 in large (P=0.009). CONCLUSIONSResults appear worse in patients with lager aneurysms.
