The study was conducted in National institute of kidney diseases & Urology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The period of the study was from January to June of 2010. The oral health was assessed using decayed missing filled (DMF) index, plaque index, gingivitis index and simplified oral hygiene index. Students t test and chi-square test were performed to compare the CKD patients with the controls.  【Result】 The age range for both groups was 20-70. The mean dialysis period was 19.80±12.86 months. All oral health index were significantly elevated in case of CKD patients as compared to controls (p<0.05). For DMFT index, mean for CKD patient was 2.75±3.20 and control 1.63±1.23. In plaque index, mean for CKD patient was 2.40±0.59 and control 1.52±0.45. For gingivitis index, mean for CKD patient was 2.14±0.67 and control 1.21±0.40. Oral hygiene index-simplified shows mean for CKD patient was 4.85±0.85 and control was 3.04±0.57.  【Conclusion】 This study provides the information that persons having renal disease may suffer from gingivitis and periodontal diseases due to higher debris collection and there might be a correlation between them.
