【Purpose】 Discover overload heart failure signs by 2D ultrasound in hemodialysis pts.  【Material and method】 From January 2005 to August 2008, 162 pts: 87men and 75women, average aged:50.2 years, have average hemodialysis times: 3 years 5 months, after stabilized heart failure signs, examined 2D ultrasound to affirmed to lost dry weight accurately. Comparing with differential tests: Electrocardiogram and X-ray. 【Results】 132/162 pts have hepatic measurements in normal limits: Left liver: height=8.5±1.5cm. Anterior-posterior=4.5±0.6cm. Right liver: height=123±1.4cm. Anterior-posterior=8.4±1.3cm. Diameter of inferior vena cave after the liver: After to take a deep breathe: Cross diameter=19.4±0.73mm. Anterior-posterior diameter=6.7±4.7mm. Average diameter:13±5.9mm. Average area=130±12.7mm2. At the end of breathe out: Cross diameter=23.7±6.4mm. Anterior-posterior diameter=13.5±4.1mm. Average diameter:18.6±4.5mm. Average area =320.3±192.6mm2. Average diameter of inferior vena cave (between breathe in and breathe out) are=15.8mm with the area to have average amplitude of oscillations=202.2±78.5mm2. Superior hepatic veins: Left superior hepatic veins=0.88±0.08mm. Middle superior hepatic veins=0.68±0.06mm. Right superior hepatic veins=0.87±0.06mm. 29/162 pts still have large liver-can't be discovered on the clinic: 14/162 pts only have large left liver, 6/162 pts only have large right liver, 9/162 pts still have large left and right liver. 17/162 pts have solution images of cardial pleura peritoneal membrane (1/162 pt was drawned out 2 liter cardial membrance). 1/82 pt have area of inferior vena cave with amplitude of oscillations is only 4mm2.144/162 pts haven't any solution image of cardial pleura peritoneal membrance.  【Conclusion】 2D ultrasound diagnoses precisely overload heart failure signs.
