Sessions

≪Organizer Abstract≫
The purpose of the symposium is to provide cases of psychological associations applying psychology in support of the human rights of minorities that encourage the application of psychology to human rights globally. Presentations will include one global model--the International Psychology Network for LGBTI Issues (IpsyNet)--and four national models, the Australian Psychological Society, the Psychological Association of the Philippines, the Psychological Society of South Africa, and the U.S. National Latino/Latina Psychology Association Orgullo (Pride),. Each presenter will describe the ways in which their organization applies psychology to increase the realization of full human rights by LGBTI people and offer lessons learned that may help other organizations considering how to apply psychology to support the human rights of minorities.
