≪Organizer Abstract≫
The classic Stroop interference (SI) is the phenomenon in which irrelevant color words influence color naming of the color of printed word. In contrast, reverse-Stroop interference (RI) is a phenomenon in which irrelevant color influence color word reading. RI is normally not observed in the traditional oral response task. However, salient RI was found in the matching task. SI and RI are affected differentially by some factors (e.g. development, developmental disorder, and neuropsychiatric disorder). In this symposium, the possible underlying mechanisms of SI and RI and their applied perspective are discussed.
