≪Organizer Abstract≫
Values of beauty are a key perspective in studies on comparative culture and social role. The purpose of this symposium is to deepen understandings of both common and individual underlying values of beauty in East Asian regions, specifically China (Shanghai), Thailand (Bangkok), and Japan (Tokyo). The findings were derived from women's beauty and cosmetics behavior from the perspective of how this behavior is influenced by society, age, and generation.
Panel discussions will be conducted with the goals of predicting future values of beauty in East Asian regions and discussing the effect of cosmetics behavior on the social role of these women.
