≪Organizer Abstract≫
Trasnscranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a method to stimulate a small region of the brain non-invasively. Current flow in a coil placed on the subject's head generates a magnetic field around the coil and in turn induces small electric currents in the region of the brain just under the coil. Now TMS is widely used in clinical fields for diagnosis and treatments, and besides, it has a huge potential as an experimental tool in human and animal experiments in psychology and neuroscience. In this symposium, we invite leading researchers from the world to provide up-to-date information on the experimental use of TMS in experimental neurology, perceptual/cognitive psychology, and systems neuroscience.
