The investigation of the relationship between A/B personality and phychological harmony among ethnic college students of Yunnan in China.

Objective This study aimed to explore the relationship between A/B personality and phychological harmony among ethnic college students of Yunnan in China.Methods Overall 337 students from Yunnan University were assessed mental harmony with Mental Harmony Scale for Ethnic Adults ( MHS-EA) and the type A/B personality with Bortner AB type personality questionnaire. Results Most of the students was in General harmony level, 9.5% presented disharmony.The MHS-EA scores of girls, Han nationality and senior undergraduates were significant higher. Students without siblings, female and Han took the main percentages of A-type while boys of minority took the main percentages of B-type. The MHS-EA scores of A-type personality students were higher than those of B-type within five dimensionalities, significantly difference in psychological harmony, interpersonal harmony, self-harmony, and mental adjustment. Conclusion There was positive interaction between personality type and psychological harmony. The ethnic students with A type personality presented higher psychological harmony level.
