Physical features of psychological counseling rooms affect the performances of psychological counselling, but the architectural standards of psychological counseling rooms have not been established. To reveal features of psychological counseling rooms that are minimally required and improve psychological counseling performances, we interviewed psychological counselors about their counseling rooms. The counselors interviewed included clinical psychologists at hospitals, and school, and industrial counselors. We asked interviewees to describe distinguished physical features of their counseling rooms, their fashions to use the counseling rooms efficiently, and desirable features to make their counseling rooms better. The results showed that the interviewees particularly thought that they need a calmer environment for better counseling. Additionally, some of them conducted counseling in a warehouse or a corridor for lack of space.
