Difference between beauty of skin and that of makeup to explain appearance of makeup faces with eye shadows

The complexion of makeup face was assimilated into the colors of eye shadows, like biological illusion. However, the effective colors depended on base colors of the face and the judgment of perceptual colors of the faces created other several dimensions according to the base colors. This study confirmed perceptual impressions of faces with eye shadows to understand the dimensions appeared in the judgment of complexion. Ninety-two females in their early 20's evaluated makeup reddish and yellowish faces with 11 eye shadows, using 16 words. A factor analysis extracted 4 factors, beauty of skin, beauty of makeup, old looking, and lovableness. Considering the results of previous studies, we should distinguish the beauty of skin and that of makeup. Moreover, this study revealed that there were some colors, greenish colors and a bright pinkish red, to show different effects on the impression of makeup according to the base colors of face.
