We examined the relationship between WAIS-3(Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale 3) and AQ (Autism-Spectrum Quotient )in 30 Japanese ASD patients with ordinary intelligence quotient. ASD patients showed higher ability in verbal cognition than other cognitive functions. Furthermore the performance IQ and the picture arrangement score of WAIS-3 were positively correlated with the attention switching score and the communication score of AQ. Contrary to our expectation, ASD patients with higher ability in performance IQ or picture arrangement may have higher subjective difficulty. It is suggested that we should interpret the scores of WAIS-3 and AQ carefully when we use them for assistant tools as the diagnosis of ASD.
