Effect of The Presence of Security Guards towards The Number of Traffic Sign Violations that Occurred in The Faculty of Mathematics and Science of Padjadjaran University Area

According to the police, the traffic in Padjadjaran University is in an alarming level. This occurs because of the behaviors of motorcyclists who frequently violate the driving rules, such as not wearing helmet and violating traffic signs. Such violations can harm the offenders as well as other road users. This study was aimed to examine the effect of security guard's presence towards the number of traffic sign violations in Faculty of Mathematics and Science of Padjadjaran University area. An experimental study with observational methods involve 1444 motorcyclists in total. This research is divided into two variation namely the presence and absence of security guards. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis (Pearson Chi-Square). Result showed that there was a siginificant effect of security guard's presence towards the number of traffic sign violations that occurred in the Faculty of Mathematics and Science of Padjadjaran University area (p=<0.0001).
