Ever since the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster in 2011, Japan has been deeply divided in the attitudes towards nuclear energy and future policies. This study examines perceptions of nuclear energy and radiation via a web based survey of 300 Japanese-speaking participants from various parts in Japan and abroad. Variables of interest include attitude clusters ranging from trust in government and mainstream media, participation in social media, attitudes towards nuclear energy and nuclear weapons, and perceived risks of radiation.
